LAB 106
LAB 106 would like to venture an alternative approach together with MyZeil. Products that are elaborately handcrafted by local creatives are not only more sustainable in terms of energy balance, they are also something very special. We want to make these products accessible to a broad public and at the same time promote art discourse. In doing so, we specifically want to dissolve the boundaries between art, design and commerce and let the space become a laboratory, a place of curiosity.
The works on display come from a wide variety of fields and range from jewellery and fashion to ceramics, art prints, photography, painting, illustration and textile art. Among other things, limited art editions will be sold and guest contributions in the form of exhibitions by young artists will expand the programme. Sales will take place from April to June during MyZeil's regular opening hours, as well as events in the form of concerts, performances and tastings of regional products (Yok Yok and Klerner wine from the Rheingau). LAB 106 will also contribute programme items to Frankfurt Fashion Week 2022.
LAB 106 is a temporary association of artists and designers in and around Frankfurt, who jointly occupy an area of approx. 220 m². As the name suggests, LAB 106 sees itself as a kind of laboratory in which various interdisciplinary art disciplines come together and create something new.
In addition, cultural events and catwalks take place on the premises.
